隨性而活力的韻律有個可愛的名稱－－舞動。

網路媒體的神奇之處，就是讓所有的人都有機會讓世人看見自己。YouTube這個舞台，也確實涵養著許多有才華的表演者，讓他們直接地展現自我，相互激盪。Ian Axel和Chad Vaccarino就是兩個在網路上發表創作的年輕人。雖然合作了五六年的時光，但嚴格來說，這個樂團卻一直沒有明確的團名，大概就是用團長的名字連寫的"Ianaxel"，或是兩人名稱並排的"Ian and Chad"來稱呼自己。直到去年秋天，為了讓這個樂團的融合性更強，也希望讓樂團有更大的成長機會，才總算有了團名"A Great Big World"。"This Is the New Year"便是這個團名成立之後發表的首批作品之一。

其實，這首歌創作完成到發表大約相隔有一年的時間。當他們寫出這首歌時，都強烈地渴望讓這首歌的情緒以大規模的方式宣傳出去。於是，他們採取了相當個有衝勁的策略－－把歌曲投稿給"Glee"的製作團隊。幸運的是，雖然間隔了一段時間，但在製作人Ryan Murphy聽過之後，立刻就決定要用這首相當適合在"Glee"中演示的歌曲。

喜歡這首歌的原因其實很直覺，就是那令人不禁想要隨之舞動的氣息，而他們的官方MV也確實就是走這種眾人自由伸展的風格呢。舞動的本質，不是特定規範與進退步伐，而是一種離開地表的情緒爆發。於是，不論是在什麼樣的情境，只要擁有旋律、肢體伸展、表達情緒，那足以完成一支舞蹈。

雖然說，這首歌已經是2006年的作品，卻也一直是The Fray最優秀、最受喜愛的作品。

根據創作者，同時也是樂團主唱與鋼琴手Isaac Slade的說法，這是一首討論問題青少年的歌曲。他將自己在輔導中心所遇到的毒癮少年面對周圍親友時的困境，與自身經驗揉合，創作出這首歌。其中，歌詞中的"life"與其說是生命，不如說是圍繞在生命周圍的各種關係。"How to Save a Life"更直指Slade自己不知如何幫助少年與其親友解開彼此傷害與困頓的情緒。歌詞中的每一次詢問，都在挖掘，是否在不一樣的情境下，這些矛盾便足以化解。為了將這樣的概念宣傳開來，樂團發起了讓樂迷們創作與詮釋自己版本MV的活動，進而激發了更多故事的交流與感動。這樣概念的傳遞，也正是流行音樂才能創造出的獨特魅力與感染力。

每隔一段時間聽這首歌，都會讓我有種重新洗滌的感受。即便，我已經聽這首歌不下百次了。其第二版的MV更是相當牽引目光。當每一張年輕卻複雜情緒的面孔經過，間或出現的文字訊息，都伴隨著哭喊與掙脫的渴望，並充斥著強烈情緒，一直到最後的釋放。利用鋼琴做為引子，然後加入電子樂器的手法，雖然在另類搖滾裡很常見，但只要不要過度煽情，我倒是很容易就被這樣的音樂吸引。

很久沒有在最後加上音樂與影集的連結，不過，我想這首歌倒是很值得提一下。這首歌本來在告示牌的成績只是普通，一直到當時如日中天的"Grey's Anatomy"將之做為第二季末的插曲和第三季的宣傳配樂，一口氣將這首歌帶到第三名。其實我自己也是經由"Grey's Anatomy"聽到這首歌的。而就算已經沒有一直追看這部影集了，對這首歌的喜愛倒是一直存在。當然，這首歌本身就擁有某些能熱門的特質，但遇到這樣強力的宣傳而獲得成功，也算是一種機遇吧。

黎明前是最暗的時刻，歸零便是重新開始的好機會。

也許會很驚訝，這首充滿Funk Rock風味的歌曲其實是Lenny Kravitz去年的作品。雖然，結構和旋律簡單而重複，七八零年代的樂團組合，伴隨間奏裡偶然的電吉他刷響，聽到鼓點可是會跟著搖擺和打拍子的呢。稍稍脫離時代感的，便是Lenny Kravitz相對流行、帶非裔韻律的嗓音，卻也一樣清爽鮮明。特別喜歡這個官方MV之外的歌詞版，跳動而乾淨的字型和色調，壞心情都會被趕走哩。

嗨，當不如意或疲倦的時候，給自己一個機會，盡情的釋放情緒吧。然後，對不愉快給出個俐落的轉身，展現陽光的笑容，周圍總有著支持與鼓掌的朋友唷。完美，不是毫無失誤的外在，而是不被缺失撼動的信念。

雖然推出過三張專輯，可是其實也大概只有第一張專輯"#1 Record"的表現比較優異。 仿效偶像The Beatles，Big Star將他們的專輯在官方註記為Alex Chilton和Chris Bell聯名創作。實際上，這張專輯中比較知名的作品，也大概就是Chilton在真正加入樂團前，就已經創作出的"The Ballad of El Goodo"和"Thirteen"。其中，"Thirteen"更是以歌名和歌詞中一句"Rock 'n Roll is here to stay"，記錄下Chilton少年時期在The Beatles巡迴演出裡所受的啟發。歌曲中展現了純淨抒情的感性口吻，也難怪被"Rolling Stone"雜誌入選為史上最佳500首歌曲。

雖然，沒有 "Thirteen" 那麼受到肯定，但是，我卻也相當喜歡"The Ballad of El Goodo"所透出的70年代經典搖滾氣息，總是訴說著一種不願為現實妥協的堅持。有一陣子，很喜歡folk類型的音樂。架構簡單，抽象的歌詞和旋律，卻帶一點透明與超然，很容易感染到那種放鬆、輕飄飄、失重的感覺。The Wellspring的翻唱版，便是這樣的調性。伴隨著歌詞內容，雖然不是經典搖滾那樣的直線條，但卻也還是傳達出軟性的堅持。

這是一首描寫分手，卻不是分手的歌曲。

隨機播放的過程中，再次顯現了去年夏天在戲院裡的氣氛。嚴格來說，歌唱的技巧和編曲，相較於職業樂團Asian Kung-Fu Generation的原唱版本，在電影當中、由宮崎あおい詮釋的版本確實是較為遜色的。但是，應對起電影的情節和宮崎あおい的專注，情感卻是更加充沛與感動的。同樣的情形就像Paran Maum的"Linda, Linda"，即使有些散亂，卻每次聽到就是熱血逼人啊！

Solanin，也就是龍葵鹼，是一種化學毒物，主要存在馬鈴薯和茄科植物裡。尤其是馬鈴薯發芽時，在芽點的位置會凝聚很大量的這種毒物。而歌詞中，真正的意思形容惰性產生的不愉快，在心裡發芽蔓延的感覺。之所以對這首歌有特別的共鳴，大概也是因為最近心中的雜亂與不耐，就這麼自以為是地包圍與滋長。

當結尾的高潮呀然而止，留白的部分卻是情緒高漲與消散的反差。就讓直率的呼喊把這些惱人的情緒轟走吧。

p.s. 歌曲、原著漫畫和電影的英文名稱都是寫成solanin，不過正確的拼寫似乎應該是solanine。

這是繼上次的"Singing in the Rain / Umbrella"之後，第二次介紹"Glee"的混歌。如果說"Singing in the Rain / Umbrella"是因為適當的歌曲結合加上雨傘舞台的表演、還有影后加持才顯得出色，那麼，"I Feel Pretty / Unpretty"就是真的靠歌曲本身的極高完成度了。

與"Singing in the Rain / Umbrella"類似，將經典電影舞台劇歌曲融合進做為主體的流行音樂中。這首歌曲是以90年代的女子團體TLC的"Unpretty"作為主要原型，再加上出自於經典舞台劇"West Side Story"的"I Feel Pretty"的幾句靈魂橋段。而在重新編曲之後，除去了本來電子音樂的抽象與廉價流行感，而用轉化成比較簡單的不插電鄉村版本。配合上Rachel(Lea Michele)和Quinn(Dianna Agron)的合音，使得這首歌的敘事性和抒情味更加流暢和完整。值得一提的是，這是影集當中，Lea和Dianna的第一次合唱。若以之前的聲音表情猜想，大概會覺得Dianna的甜軟會被Lea的強而銳利掩蓋過去。但是令人覺得驚喜的，在這首歌的詮釋裡，兩位女聲是相當契合平衡。Dianna的聲音很自然的融合進簡單的編曲，決定了歌曲的基調，Lea也終於不用為了Rechel的角色個性，使用她全部的力量唱歌，更顯得游刃有餘。

除了聲音本身使得這首歌就好聽之外，歌詞與劇情橋段本身也是相當有意思的。"Unpretty"是一首提倡新女性自覺的歌曲，而"I Feel Pretty"則瀰漫著少女對愛情憧憬的氣息，把兩首從歌詞內容就不一樣調性的歌曲揉合，也使得這首歌的深度增加許多。原本單純的為失去自我而產生的厭惡，卻也有著對表象事物的喜悅，這樣的矛盾更顯得立體感。配合上Rachel和Quinn這兩個角色的性格差異和衝突關係，執著才華的邊緣者與對未來感到消逝的校園明星，矛盾的內容，恰好很適合互為「醜小鴨和天鵝」的自卑心境。就像這首歌，雖然說基調是Dianna的聲音決定，但幾個亮點仍然還是交由Lea來詮釋。

就是，很喜歡這種簡單和複雜的巧妙。

難以想像，這是21歲的創作與聲音。愛怨的浪潮在陰霾的天氣裡掀起，在席捲之後，仍餘波蕩漾。

就是那麼新典型的公式，擁有天賦才華同時也是科班出身的Adele，在MySpace上放上她為了交作業的三首創作，吸引了唱片公司的注意。在經過一兩次幫其他創作歌手的作品配唱後，以及單曲的成功之後，她的第一張創作專輯"19"面世，專輯的名稱標記著她當時的年齡。以超越實際年齡的創作音樂性、磁性嗓音和澎湃的情感詮釋，一口氣拿下了流行音樂顛峰Grammy Awards的最佳新人獎和最佳流行音樂女演唱人獎。

在"21"裡，比較受歡迎的歌曲包括主打歌"Rolling in the Deep"和也先以單曲推出的"Someone Like You"。"Rolling in the Deep"據說是她在失戀的當下，只花不到三小時就創作出來了。愛情的來去，果然是人們永遠的靈感泉源啊。這首歌曲，不論曲風或是歌詞內容，在聲聲鼓點之下，展現出非常強烈而顯著的情緒發散。至於"Someone Like You"則是以抒情的方式，描寫著對於逝去戀情看似放手、實則牽掛的心情。不過，相較於這兩首，我更喜歡"Turning Tables"。融合古典味的迂迴，一遍又一遍地訴說，一次比一次更加強，讓人感覺更為濃烈與精醇。

如果一直有在看這個blog，就會覺得我對The Beatles的歌有特別的喜好吧。畢竟，沒有其他任何樂團的作品會被我提到這麼多次啦。"Silly Love Songs"嚴格來說不算The Beatles的作品，而是Paul McCartney在單飛以後，和他的妻子Linda組織Wings的時期所寫的作品。而這首歌也算是這個樂團最有名的作品了，至少，是我少數有印象的作品之一。有人說，相對於Lennon喜歡寫出抽象或艱深的歌曲，McCartney的作品則比較具備流行性，若拿"Imagine"和"Silly Love Songs"相比，確實是如此吧。但也是因為這樣，使得任何情境，都可以利用這首歌做出不一樣的詮釋。出現在「紅磨坊」"Moulin Rouge!"的"Elephant Love Medley"就是男女主角的情意傳達；而"Glee"裡面，卻是情人節特輯裡象徵屬於單身也擁有高歌與期待權利的歌曲。

我總認為，相同化某些感覺是一種奇怪的事情。我相信，對於身邊每一個人的關係都是獨一無二。未來總是有很多我們不能掌握或理解的存在，而維繫這唯一的情感，卻是我所希望能持續的。就像值得記得的日子不一定要是情人節，而每個人都有屬於自己的"Silly Love Songs"。就算傻氣，也絕不是多餘的傻氣。

很久沒有在電影院裡看Studio Ghibli的電影，"借りぐらしのアリエッティ"也重新給予了一些屬於這間動畫公司的體驗。這部工作室裡最年輕的導演米林宏昌的作品（宮崎駿導演是監製和編劇），相對於宮崎導演自己的作品來說，是一部比較小品性質的電影。雖然說，仍然有著宮崎導演一貫對自然的關懷之情，但卻也點到為止，並沒有刻意安排強烈深沈的文藝與寄託藏在表層之下。劇情和音樂都是很流暢，大概也是因為這是個「小」群體的故事（不論是主角的身材或是人物數量），劇情中雖然也有一些高潮的安排，呼吸也顯得平順。觀眾的情緒並不需要強烈起伏地被刻意牽動，只要感受那微小的點滴餘韻就行嘍。

相對於主題歌"Arrietty's Song"的強烈敘事與歐日混合童話氣息，我更喜歡在電影剛開始就重複出現的"床下の我が家"。簡單、溫馨、小小的冒險與寓言，就像是這個故事一樣。

老實說，一直要到最近才知道Gwyneth Paltrow也有好歌喉呢！之前對她的印象只是覺得出生演藝世家的她，具備大部分的人都會認同的氣質美，也有些演戲的才華去詮釋一些比較特別的角色。就好像，雖然她最有名的奧斯卡得獎作品「莎翁情史」"Shakespeare in Love"的典型第一女主角，但這卻不是我最有印象的作品。反而是像稍微偏一點的角色，更能彰顯出她超越花瓶的演技。像是，「火線追緝令」"Se7en"裡，戲份很少，卻足以讓觀眾感覺出一個菜鳥警探妻子的不太適應狀況，但也盡量配合丈夫的樣子。「雙面情人」"Sliding Doors"裡，變相以一人雙角的方式，表演同一角色卻遭遇不同際遇的情況。還有"Proof"裡活在父親盛名之下、對自己狀態有一些障礙的女數學家，那種壓抑、不確定和矛盾，也是有說服力的。演技之外的歌唱表現，是新的意外啊。在"Glee"的客串裡，我們可以在一集中看到她表演三首歌，恐怕也只有客串兩次的舞台劇名伶Kristin Chenoweth唱得比她多了。

在第二季裡，混歌的情況真的是相對大增。不過，能讓兩首有相輔相成感覺的，就大概是這首跨越55年的混合曲，稱得上一場精彩的表演了。將兩首雨傘歌混合之下，1952年的"Dancin' in the Rain"更有現代感，而褪去原曲裡散發濃烈性感的"Umbrella"，反而更有一種自在而企盼的感覺。再加上充滿舞台上的雨、水和雨傘舞，確實賞心悅目。說來，可以在影集裡看到這種表演，也是"Glee"這樣的影集吸引觀眾的獨特性呢！

在加拿大拍攝的好萊塢影集很多，尤其是科幻影集，不過，真正屬於加拿大的影集，"Being Erica"卻真的是我的第一部呢！沒有好萊塢的節奏感、不含英式的黑色幽默，北方國家獨有的暖色調與悠閒，是屬於這個影集的風情。Erin Karpluk輕熟女的氣息對應Erica的固執傻氣性格是恰到好處，Michael Riley也帶給總引用名句佳話Dr. Tom一些歐式貴族般的優雅。藉由時光倒轉的奇幻設定，跟著未脫憤世氣息，卻也有些挫折感的女主角重新檢視她的人生，以輕鬆而不流於說教的方式給觀眾思考的機會，也就是這個影集的迷人之處嘍。

傳統單親爸爸和同志兒子之間的矛盾與情感描述，總算把"Glee"復撥以來「表演還行，劇情糟糕」的情況改善。對於Kurt的性向，生活在保守小鎮的Burt即使願意接受自己的兒子，卻也不怎麼懂得正確表達自己，而只能默默表現在行動上。而就在一場父子爭吵之後，Burt的病倒，使得Kurt重新思考自己與父親的關係。即使合唱團裡其他團員們表示關心，而演唱了一些和自己認知衝突的信仰歌曲，Kurt也用了The Beatles的成名曲"I Want to Hold Your Hand"，表達自己對父親的熱切情感。

從現在的角度來看，The Beatles的音樂其實並沒有特別的設計，多半就是重複著單純一兩個容易記得的歌詞與旋律橋段。不過，也正是這樣簡單而直白地表達出情感的方式，展現出了他們獨特魅力，以及足以引領後來流行音樂發展的特質。"I Want to Hold Your Hand"就是這樣一首標準The Beatles風格的情歌。劇組在第一季裡詮釋過John Lennon的"Imagine"、Pual McCartney的"Hello Goodbye"，這次再度使用這兩人的作品。（好啦，我知道"Imagine"是John Lennon在分家後的代表作，但畢竟The Beatles的音樂幾乎都是這兩位的作品啊。）把歡樂的情歌拉慢節奏，配合更清爽的樂器，作為描寫兒子對父親的情感，更顯得細微而動人。配合劇情回憶畫面，還真讓人動容啊。

順帶一提的，本集對信仰（或說上帝）的討論，雖然說只是稍微碰觸而已，但是對一個主流而沒有把重心放在思考上的影集來說，能嘗試超過理所當然的劇情推理和選歌一點，像是以Joan Osborne的"One of Us"作為片尾曲，多少算是有一些誠意。

終於，第一季的"Glee"結束了。估量著該從finale裡挑出哪首歌來記錄一下心情："Bohemian Rhapsody"當然經典，也許正是這首偉大的歌曲造就Queen的劃時代地位，選擇這首歌，顯得太自主而搶走我想要記下的風采；再度重新詮釋的"Don't Stop Believin'"，帶來貫穿整季的角色成長與變化，該是最好的選擇了，但是又好像太過理所當然而矯情；看著，"Faithfully"就在那裡，就像歌舞劇，我對經典抒情搖滾沒有抵抗力！直率、濃烈、深刻、鼓動人心！

作為令人感動的finale，我很喜歡Will鼓勵著學生們坦然挑戰比賽的話語："Life only really has one beginning and one end, and the rest is just a whole lot of middle... Who cares what happens when we get there when the getting there has been so much fun?"與其關心最後的結束，不如把握人生旅程的每一小部分。這樣的信念，讓Journey的組曲成了最適當的選擇與寓意。"Faithfully"雖是描寫走過漫漫旅程後的相守心情，卻也轉化為優異的開場曲，走過了一整季，故事卻也正要開始而已。人生，在最後一刻來臨之前，永遠都可以是開始，就像我很喜歡的一句格言（就在旁邊欄位裡那個綠色蕨類圖片的下面）－－"Today is the first day of the rest of my life."

目前為止，我好像幾乎沒有介紹過英文的新歌，不過，這首很有趣也很有興味的歌，卻讓我忍不住想要介紹（連翻譯都做了）。在非常輕快而愉悅的曲調下，簡單地講述發光小蟲和睡不著的人之間的故事。整首歌聽起來，實在讓人忍不住好喜歡這種表達一種天真、單純卻特殊的浪漫情緒。

Owl City是由Adam Young個人組成的樂團（咦，這樣應該要說是藝名？）。感謝電子音樂的發展和Apple，這位創作者就是在自己家裡的地下室作出屬於自己的音樂的。感謝網路社群的發達和MySpace，他憑藉著熱情完成的作品，就可以有機會直接發表在世人的面前。自己出了兩張獨立製作的專輯，稍微累積了一些聽眾之後，Adam Young和Universal Republic簽約。在去年發表的第一張專輯"Ocean Eyes"裡，就包括這首由搖滾樂團Relient K的主唱Matt Thiessen配唱，在西方世界非常紅的"Fireflies"。這首歌在各大排行榜裡，拿下了包括7個冠軍的17個前三名。大概在這個越趨複雜的世界，所有人都期待與盼望那種就是單純生活情感的想像。

這哪裡是五十強的水準啦...
（喔，澄清一下，我至少有超過半年沒有看星光大道了，
只是家人看的時候，剛好聽到而已。
不過還好有聽到，否則好可惜...）

旋律在主歌的部分，
有點像江蕙近年作品的味道，
但副歌就去掉了流行味，
是比較傾向「閩南語民歌」的氣息。
這樣還保有非商業樂團創作的歌型，
我自己是非常喜歡的。

歌詞的話，
用簡單表達豐富，
不煽情卻具有穿透力，
光是看歌詞就可以感受到作者想要表達的心情。

這是一首非常具有感染性的自創曲，
不論是旋律本身的淡淡鄉味，
亦或是歌詞透出的濃濃感情，
都做了很完整的融合，
也難怪製作閩南語歌曲多年的陳子鴻老師這麼推崇了。

另外，值得特別說一下的，
雖然，很自然的，
這首歌所吸引焦點和散發的光芒主要都集中在創作者陳以恩身上，
可是，我覺得吳蓓雅的合音也是很棒的。
既不搶主音風采，也烘托整體氣氛，
這實在是非常專業，也展現功力的表現。
